Each month The NC Crafts Gallery presents the work of different North Carolina artists in a special gallery show. Shows run from the first to the last day of each month.
May 1 - 31
Front Gallery: "Ambidextrous Collection." Porcelain Bowls by Laura Korch of Trout Ceramics, Carrboro. For the show, Laura has covered a 4'x 9' wall with bowls. One side is thrown and drawn with her dominant right hand, the other side is thrown and drawn with her left hand. Some 140 porcelain bowls will be on display.
Back Gallery: Art and Folklore Quilts by Glenda Alexander of Durham, NC. Glenda is an active member of the Durham-Orange Quilters' Guild and has exhibited her artwork, including hand-sewn quilts, batik paintings, and drawings for 40 years. She has developed a series of quilts based on NC folklore and many of her fabrics are hand dyed.
Join us for an artist reception during the 2ndFriday Artwalk on May 11th from 6-9pm.
